Kick Alzheimer’s Butt and Punch Cancer In The Face

Give to charity. Get gifts. Everybody wins (except two lousy diseases).   Today I want to tell you about a couple of things. They’re a bit personal. I’m talking about cancer and Alzheimer’s and how they affected my life. Back when I was a wee little reader, most of my time was spent with my grandmother. This woman had a huge impact on me because if it wasn’t for her I’d have been raised by wolves. Grandma Estelle was a mercurial woman with warm hazel eyes and a sense of humor as sudden and endearing as the dawn. She’d burst into song at the drop of a hat, but often…

  • Stardust, Always

    Events Of Certain Fun!

Hello everyone! I’ll be at the RI Author Expo being exposed. Oh! Well, that didn’t come out the way I thought it’d sound… Hmm. Anyway, I’ll have copies of all my books with me and a pen for signing. Books make great gifts. You can even chat about geekness, or ask me questions about characters and stories. If you’re not anywhere near Rhode Island, or just want to stay at home in your pajamas all day, you’re in luck because I’m making a Facebook appearance as well. Writer’s Colony Press, the folks who format and publish all those awesome charity anthologies, have me on at 9PM EST. Other authors will be there, too.…

  • P.A.W.S. By Debbie Manber Kupfer

    Autumn Author: Debbie Manber Kupfer

Today, here’s an author I’ve been lucky to work with on the Stardust, Always anthology. It’s Debbie Manber Kupfer! Debbie grew up in the UK in the East London suburb of Barking. She has lived in Israel, New York, and North Carolina and somehow ended up in St. Louis, where she works as a writer and a freelance puzzle constructor of word puzzles and logic problems. She lives with her husband, two children, and a very opinionated feline. Her first novel, P.A.W.S., was published originally in June 2013 and her second book in the series, Argentum, was released in October 2014. In addition, she has stories in several anthologies including Fauxpocalypse,…

    What Happened Wednesday!?

I’ll tell you what happened while you admire these delicious waffles. Friendly Neighborhood Friday went to a convention right along with my interviewee. I’m talking about Jeffery Cook, one of the authors of Working The Table, which is a book about bringing your books to conventions. I can haz ironywaffles and they are tasty! Irony. Waffles. Gah, yeah you see what I did there. Anyway, here’s something about Jeff, whose convention experience can be measured in loads (literally, as in dragging loads of books with him plus working loads of shows). Jeffrey Cook is an award-winning science fiction and fantasy author, primarily affiliated with Clockwork Dragon Books and the…

Have a Good Read and Help #ENDALZ!

“An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease in 2016. Of the 5.4 million Americans with Alzheimer’s, an estimated 5.2 million people are age 65and older, and approximately 200,000 individuals are under age 65 (younger-onset Alzheimer’s).” www.alz.org/facts/ On March 12th, 2015, the writing world lost one of its greatest contemporary heroes – Sir Terrence “Terry” Pratchett. To honor his life, a group of writers published an anthology of stories that showcased his influence on their writing, and which also helped bring awareness of the disease that contributed to his end, Alzheimer’s Disease. That anthology was The Longest Night Watch, volume 1. It was a success, and the group–now…
